Steve Locatelli

In Brussels, where Steve Locatelli grew up, he slowly found its way into the urban arts. It is fair to say Locatelli moved from Metro towards Gallery. Starting with spreading painted stickers throughout the city, then moving towards the act of tagging, to later end up with his own unique style.Geometric forms create large more abstract walls or are elements to build figures and representations. In his colorful works, spread out over Belgium (and Europe) often a skull is depicted, Locatelli mentions in an interview how he is intrigued by the neutral aspect of it, the universality of this depiction. Since 2017 Locatelli opened ‘Artifex’, a gallery in Antwerp and a space for workshops to speak to the younger generation.
