Aerosol Kings

Gosh, Nast, Rise One, Sawer, Skill, Xoep – together ‘The Aerosol Kings’. After Skill and Rise One connected 4 other graffiti artists the collective was born in 2000. Intrigued by the liberty, connected to graffiti art, and the give and take process with the ‘street’, they managed to create their own style. Next to their graphics and city additions, they are engaged in workshops for young enthousiasts and are the current partners of MOS (Meeting of Styles) in Belgium. Typography is of importance, and often centralized, in their walls. Figurative representations are combined with the lettering and sometimes take over the spotlight. These represented characters remind of  comic or action figures and match the harshness or softness of the letter design. In time their name becomes more intertwined in its surrounding shapes. In there commissioned, we are presented with a different approach, as there is more devision between the typographic designs and the figurative creations.
