The research Ben Brohanszky conducts at the Royal Acemdy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, poored into a blue-covered booklet. ‘Poetical tendencies in graffiti art’ the subtitle says. As those two concepts sound contrasting, Brohanszky proves throughout the publication the difference, even in the manner the book is designed. Photographs of street tags, covered trains and more philosophical statements inside public bathrooms are provided as Ben Brohanszky links Graffiti with situationist & concept art. Fluxus comes to surface as well in this artist book. On the cover of this particular example a silver spray-painted letter ‘E’ is to be noticed. This letter is the aftermath of a performance, which happened when the book was launched. 200 samples were presented right next to each other, as Ben Brohanszky wrote/spray painted a single letter onto each cover, together forming one long (of course poetical) sentence. A little note with the entire sentence is to be found inside these 200 copies.
