Bitte Jetzt

As part of the CityLeaks Urban Art Festival 2015 “Die Stadt, die es nicht gibt”, Dutch artist Boris Tellegen created the “Bitte Jetzt” mural. The painterly intervention stems from the artist’s intention to puzzle the observer and local residents. Two simple words are sufficient for this, which were placed contextless in the architecture of one of the neighborhood’s last remaining war ruins. Tellegen tried several word combinations before translating the final selection into German. The comment without a punctuation is to be interpreted as a call and refers to the idea of urgency. A timeless concept that is yet to locate with many interpretive points of reference in the spirit of the times.
