Right before the darkness of the tunnel when taking the train from Antwerpen-Berchem towards Centraal, a large 500m² wall dictates the environment. After in Berchem, being exposed to other urban art works, here abstraction takes over as Steve Locatelli’s geometric surfaces guide you. Newer then this piece, is his addition to the station of Antwerpen-Luchtbal where he utilizes similar formations, creating a web of intertwined circles and diagonally stretched rectangles. Only the colors differ and how more figurative elements are added at Luchtbal. In the Berchem mural, only typography offer extra information to the grey and dark green/blue play. The circular forms have a mechanical connotation in close proximity to the train station. ANTWERPEN it says loud and clear. It was commissioned by Infrabel, to obstruct illegal graffiti.
