Kristof Van Gestel

Kristof Van Gestel is connected with the School of Arts in Ghent, where he pursued his doctoral studies and Post doctoral studies, for the latter he created the platform ‘knowing by doing’. This line describes part of his art practice. Participants are at times invited to collaboratively think about how art and daily life co-exist, the room for participation is present in his installations as well. With a sculptural and performative approach to art, he focusses on experiences and processes rather then on an end result. One of his key interest is the dynamic relationship between art and public, when the public is invited to contribute.
