Daniel Lisson

Daniel Lisson takes viewers of his illustrations into surreal worlds full of eccentric figures and crazy fantasy creatures that seem to have sprung from colorful cartoons. Many stylistic elements of his contemporary illustrations suggest that Lisbon’s artistic career began in the graffiti scene. Colloquial slogans, dynamic motifs and always a twinkle in the eye behind the depiction distinguish his works. His love of detail and his penchant for colorful, overturned monsters and figures are unmistakable. Until 2011 Lisson was managing director of his own streetwear brand RRROBOT, which he founded during his design studies in 2007. Today he works as a freelance illustrator and designer and is part of Lichtfaktor, a light painting collective from Cologne. In addition to illustration and light painting, he has been involved in screen printing for many years and creates art prints and editions in his studio at KunstWerk Köln.
